On October 25, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) hosted the Opening Ceremony of the Semifinal Round of the 27th Euréka Student Scientific Research Award 2025 in the field of Food Technology. The Euréka Student Scientific Research Award is one of the most prestigious annual awards jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. It provides an opportunity for students nationwide to showcase highly applicable scientific research projects that contribute to addressing practical issues in society. Each year, the award not only inspires a passion for research but also encourages students to develop innovative ideas, thereby enhancing the quality of education and contributing to national development.
This year’s award attracted 2,178 scientific research projects from 161 universities, colleges, and academies across the country. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade contributed 83 research projects, demonstrating the dynamism and creativity of its students. The submitted projects were distributed across 12 research fields, including 14 in Food Technology, 10 in Economics, 9 in Engineering and Technology, 8 in Chemistry, 8 in Social Sciences, 8 in Culture and Arts, 7 in Information Technology, 6 in Administration and Legal Studies, 6 in Agricultural Sciences, 3 in Educational Sciences, 2 in Biology, and 2 in Resources and Environment.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Dr. Bùi Hồng Đăng, Vice Chairman and Acting Chair of the University Council, emphasized that the award serves as an academic forum and a meaningful platform for enthusiastic students with a passion for scientific research from across the country to participate and demonstrate their talents. He also expressed his admiration for the success of the Euréka Student Scientific Research Award 2025, which attracted 2,178 projects from 161 universities, academies, and research centers nationwide. In the field of Food Technology alone, there were 77 projects presented by 261 contestants from 24 institutions, of which Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade was honored to contribute 14 projects.

Following that, Mr. Đoàn Kim Thành, Director of the Center for Young Science and Technology Development, delivered the opening speech, welcoming all contestants and delegates to the program. He underscored the importance of the Euréka Student Scientific Research Award in creating a dynamic academic environment where students can engage, learn, and develop innovative ideas with high practical applicability.
The program also included an introduction to the Scientific Council, whose members play a vital role in evaluating and selecting the most outstanding projects submitted by contestants. The council members are reputable experts with many years of experience in the field of Food Technology, and they will make the final decisions on the projects chosen for the final round.
To acknowledge the contributions of the Scientific Council, the Organizing Committee presented flowers and commemorative gifts to its members as a gesture of sincere appreciation for the dedication of lecturers and experts in ensuring the objectivity and quality of the award.
