The new Regulations on Organization and Operations, effective from September 1, 2026, set out the direction for developing HUIT into a smart, multidisciplinary university, with the goal of attaining a leading position nationally and gradually establishing a presence in prestigious university rankings in Asia and around the world. Alongside this is the mission of training highly qualified human resources, developing talent, expanding international integration, and contributing to national development.

This also represents a shift from expanding in scale toward deepening the quality and substance of development. In this journey, technology will become an important driving force. HUIT aims to proactively, comprehensively, and responsibly apply digital technologies and artificial intelligence; develop digital infrastructure; leverage data for governance, administration, and forecasting; while ensuring cybersecurity, personal data protection, intellectual property, and academic integrity.

Digital learning platforms, open educational resources, flexible learning models, and emerging technologies are being implemented to expand access to knowledge, enhance the learning experience, and help students develop the capacity to adapt to the future.
