The 2026 Green Summer Campaign of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) is being implemented in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh Province, and Gia Lai Province, featuring a range of practical projects and activities undertaken by HUIT youth. The campaign focuses on two key areas: digital transformation associated with public administration and participation in building new-style rural areas, with particular attention to border communes.
A highlight of this year's campaign is the development of projects with long-term practical value, tailored to the actual needs of each locality. In Ho Chi Minh City, HUIT youth are expected to present two children's playgrounds with a total value of VND 100 million. An Nhon Ward and Trung My Tay Ward will each receive a playground worth VND 50 million. These projects will contribute to creating safe and healthy recreational spaces for children while supporting local authorities in improving community cultural facilities.
In Tay Ninh Province and Gia Lai Province, HUIT will continue to implement two solar-powered lighting routes combined with National Flag routes, with a total value of VND 200 million. The project in Long Chu Commune, Tay Ninh Province, is valued at VND 100 million, while the project in Gia Lai Province has an equivalent value. Illuminated roads will make travel more convenient for local residents, contribute to maintaining public security and order, and improve the appearance of rural and border areas.

In addition, the campaign will implement projects such as “National Flag Route – Lighting the Way of Faith,” “Solar-Powered Lighting Poles – Youth Information Boards,” and “A Loving Mural – Brightening School Spaces”; install 50 National Flag poles, repaint classrooms, and support the renovation of houses for disadvantaged families.
Social welfare activities will continue to receive significant attention, with 400 scholarships worth a total of VND 200 million awarded to children facing difficult circumstances. In Ho Chi Minh City, scholarships will be presented in An Nhon, Trung My Tay, and Tan Thanh wards. In Tay Ninh Province, the program will be implemented in Long Chu, Duong Minh Chau, and Tan Lap communes. In Gia Lai Province, 50 scholarships worth VND 25 million are expected to be awarded to disadvantaged children who have made efforts to overcome difficulties.
The campaign will also allocate resources to present gifts to families of people who rendered services to the nation in Trung My Tay, Thong Tay Hoi, and Tan Phu wards; provide 50 gift packages to disadvantaged children; support local communities with water purifiers; and organize a “Zero-Dong Stall” to serve local residents.
Sharing the campaign's orientation, Mr. Bui Minh Nhat Uyen, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade Youth Union, said: “What HUIT youth aim for is not limited to the number of projects or the value of the resources provided. More importantly, we focus on their long-term effectiveness for local communities and residents. We hope to maintain our presence in each locality for at least five years so that the projects and activities can be implemented continuously, built upon, and progressively improved. HUIT views each campaign as one stage in a long-term journey of accompanying local communities, working together to address practical needs and create sustainable values'.
Accordingly, 2026 marks the fourth consecutive year that HUIT has accompanied Gia Lai Province and the third year of implementing activities in Tay Ninh Province. Maintaining a continuous presence in these areas enables HUIT youth to gradually expand solar-powered lighting routes, National Flag routes, and social welfare projects in border areas. This orientation has received consensus and active support from the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union, Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union, and local authorities.
In the field of digital transformation, the “Blue Shirts at Public Offices – Supporting Administrative Procedures for Residents” team will assist residents in using online public services, searching for information, digitizing documents, and accessing digital platforms. The activities are particularly aimed at elderly people, workers, and residents with limited technological skills.
The volunteers will also participate in environmental sanitation, clearing overgrown vegetation, improving residential roads, caring for Martyrs' Cemeteries, and implementing the “Youth Tree Rows – Clean Banks, Beautiful Neighborhoods” program. HUIT will also coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment to plant approximately 10,000 trees each year. These activities will be maintained continuously based on the actual needs of each locality rather than being limited to the duration of the Green Summer Campaign.
With the identified projects and activities, the total estimated budget for the 2026 Green Summer Campaign is approximately VND 750 million. Of this amount, the campaign will build three children's playgrounds in An Nhon Ward, Trung My Tay Ward, and Con Dao Special Administrative Region, with a total budget of nearly VND 150 million; implement four solar-powered lighting routes combined with National Flag routes, comprising 200 lights and 200 National Flags, in Ia Mo Commune and Ia Lau Commune in Gia Lai Province, and An Ninh Commune and Long Chu Commune in Tay Ninh Province, with an estimated budget of approximately VND 400 million; and award 400 scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances, with a total value of VND 200 million.
