Pursuant to Circular No. 23/2021/TT-BGDDT dated August 30, 2021 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the promulgation of the Regulations on Master’s Admission and Training;

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announces master’s admission for Phase 2 of 2025 as follows:

  1. Form, duration, and location of training:
  • Form of training: Full-time;
  • Duration of training: 1.5 years, equivalent to 03 semesters;
  • Study schedule: Saturdays, Sundays, and weekday evenings;
  • Training location: At the campuses of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
  1. Eligible applicants:
  • Vietnamese citizens.
  • Foreign citizens.
  1. Admission method:

Admission is conducted based on the following criteria:

  • Applicants belonging to priority groups specified in Section 6.1 of this announcement.
  • Priority is given to applicants with higher undergraduate cumulative grade point averages until the quota is filled;
  • In cases where the number of applicants with the same undergraduate cumulative grade point average exceeds the admission quota, priority will be given based on work seniority in a field related to the program of study, as evidenced by labor contracts, social insurance contribution records, or confirmation from the applicant’s workplace. Applicants with longer seniority will be admitted.
  • In cases where multiple applicants have the same seniority, female applicants will be prioritized pursuant to Clause 4, Article 16 of Decree No. 48/2009/ND-CP dated May 19, 2009 on measures to ensure gender equality.
  1. Admission requirements:

5.1. For Vietnamese applicants:

a) Degree requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Applicants have graduated from university or have satisfied the conditions for recognition of university graduation, or equivalent or higher qualification, in a discipline relevant to the master’s program or specialization for which they apply at the University, as specified in Appendix 1 attached to this announcement. For research-oriented programs, applicants must have graduated with a classification of Fair or higher or have a scientific publication related to the field of study or research;
  • Applicants have graduated from university or have satisfied the conditions for recognition of university graduation, or equivalent or higher qualification, in disciplines not yet relevant to the master’s program or specialization for which they apply, and have completed supplementary knowledge courses before applying, in accordance with the University’s regulations on master’s admission and training, as specified in Appendix 1;
  • Applicants meet other requirements under the program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the training program regulations of the University.

b) Foreign language requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a foreign language major; or a bachelor’s degree or higher from a program delivered mainly in a foreign language.
  • One of the foreign language degrees or certificates equivalent to Level 3 or higher according to the six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or other equivalent certificates announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, valid by the application date, as specified in Appendix 2. After receiving the degree or certificate, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will verify its authenticity.
  • Applicants who do not have proof of foreign language proficiency under the above conditions will take a Level 3/6 foreign language proficiency assessment organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade before admission evaluation.

c) Other requirements:

Applicants must have:

  • A clear personal background and a commitment that they are not subject to criminal prosecution.
  • A commitment to fulfill financial obligations during the training process in accordance with the University’s regulations.
  • A complete application dossier submitted within the prescribed deadline.
  • Applicants eligible for priority policies must have complete documents as prescribed in Section 6.1 of this announcement.

5.2. For foreign applicants:

  • Foreign applicants must satisfy the same requirements applicable to Vietnamese applicants as specified in Section 5.1 above.
  • Foreign applicants who apply for master’s programs delivered in Vietnamese must achieve Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework prescribed in Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGDDT dated September 1, 2015 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • The determination of the discipline for foreign applicants will be based on comparison of courses with identical or equivalent names to determine the discipline or required conversion courses.
  1. Priority groups and policies:

6.1. Priority groups:

a) Applicants who have worked continuously for at least 2 years, calculated to the application submission deadline, in localities classified as Area 1 under the current regulations on full-time university and college admission. In this case, applicants must have a decision on employment acceptance, assignment, or secondment issued by a competent agency or organization.

b) War invalids and persons entitled to policies applicable to war invalids.

c) Children of martyrs.

d) Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces and Labor Heroes.

e) Ethnic minority applicants who have had permanent residence for at least 2 years in localities classified as Area 1 under the current regulations on full-time university and college admission.

f) Biological children of persons engaged in resistance activities who were exposed to toxic chemicals and recognized by the provincial People’s Committee as having deformities, disabilities, or reduced self-care capacity in daily life and study due to the effects of toxic chemicals.

Required documents for priority policy eligibility:

  • Notarized copy of war invalid/sick soldier card or other relevant documents, for the groups specified at Points b, c, e, and f of Section 6.1.
  • Notarized copy of ID card/citizen identification card, household registration book, and confirmation from the commune/ward of residence, for the group specified at Point d of Section 6.1.
  • Notarized labor contract, decision on employment acceptance or work assignment issued by a competent authority, and confirmation from the ward/commune People’s Committee that the workplace is located in a priority area, for the group specified at Point a of Section 6.1.

6.2. Priority level:

Applicants belonging to priority groups will be given admission priority in the order specified in Section 4 of this announcement.

7.1. Application dossier includes:

  • Application form for master’s admission, Form BMThS-01.
  • Curriculum vitae certified by the local authority or workplace, Form BMThS-02.
  • Health certificate issued by a competent medical facility within no more than 6 months.
  • 01 notarized copy of ID card/citizen identification card;
  • 01 notarized copy of bachelor’s degree and 01 notarized copy of transcript. If the applicant completed an articulation program to university level, they must also submit the diploma and transcript of the college/intermediate/articulation program.
  • 01 notarized copy of foreign language degree/certificate.
  • 01 confirmation of work seniority issued by the workplace, if any, Form BMThS-03.
  • 01 certificate and transcript of supplementary knowledge courses, if any, Form BMThS-07.

In cases where the bachelor’s degree and transcript are issued by a foreign training institution, they must be notarized in Vietnamese and submitted together with the recognition document issued by the Quality Management Department. Information on recognition of foreign-issued qualifications is available at https://naric.edu.vn, under the section guiding the procedure for recognition of qualifications issued by foreign educational institutions.

7.2. Application submission method:

Submit directly to the Postgraduate Management Office, Room D102, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

8.2. Tuition fee and study encouragement policy for alumni of the University:

  • Tuition fee: VND 1,200,000 per credit; the full program consists of 60 credits.
  • Applicants who are alumni of the University are eligible for the following tuition reduction policy:
  • Applicants who graduated from the bachelor’s program with Good or Excellent classification: 20% tuition reduction for each semester.
  • Applicants who graduated from the bachelor’s program with Fair classification: 10% tuition reduction for each semester.
  • Applicants who graduated from the bachelor’s program with other classifications: 5% tuition reduction for each semester.

  • Application dossiers and fees will not be returned to applicants.
