To foster an environment for knowledge sharing, networking, and academic exchange, while discovering breakthrough innovative concepts and practical applications to address real-world challenges in agriculture, food processing, and food security, the Center for Young Science and Technology Development, in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, organized the 2026 Post-Harvest Technology Competition.
The competition took place at 06:30 AM on September 25, 2026, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (140 Le Trong Tan Street, Tay Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), bringing together 82 entries, including 45 projects in Category A and 37 projects in Category B.
The competition was structured into two competition tracks. Category A focused on technology solutions and research in food processing, including research projects and practical applications on production processes, agri-food processing technology, post-harvest inspection technologies, and solutions to enhance nutritional value, extend shelf life, and increase the economic value of agricultural and food products. Category B centered on post-harvest preservation technologies, including the application of novel materials in agricultural preservation, advanced preservation methods and techniques, loss-reduction solutions, product development from agricultural commodities, and innovative, eco-friendly packaging designs with high practical applicability.
During the Semi-Final Round, projects were showcased through scientific poster presentations. Authors delivered direct oral presentations explaining their concepts, prototypes, products, and technical workflows before the Board of Judges. Based on rigorous evaluation, top-performing entries advanced to the Final Round to defend their research directly before the judging panel.
Competing entries were guided by the core motto "Innovative - Stable - Optimized - Effective", placing primary focus on practical post-harvest processing and preservation solutions. These innovations aimed to optimize production workflows, preserve nutritional value, extend shelf life, minimize post-harvest losses, ensure food safety, and utilize eco-friendly materials. Through the competition, the Organizing Committee sought to exhibit actionable research projects and creative concepts, while leveraging scientific research to add value to agricultural products, foster intellectual property, and enhance brand equity for the municipal agri-food sector.
The 2026 Post-Harvest Technology Competition serves as a dynamic catalyst to promote scientific research, technological innovation, and real-world application, while scaling practical solutions to enhance agricultural value and advance sustainable, efficient development.
