The Food Innovation and Development (FID) Competition is an open innovation platform designed to foster creativity among students in Vietnam and around the world. Since its launch in 2024, FID has evolved into a prominent platform for nurturing innovative ideas in the agri-food sector while strengthening strategic collaboration among universities, industry partners, and the innovation ecosystem to transform promising ideas into practical solutions.

Building on the success of the previous editions, and driven by the ambition to elevate the competition to the international stage while contributing to Vietnam’s emergence as a strategic agri-food hub in Asia, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST, a member of IUFoST), the National Startup Support Center (NSSC), and the BambuUP Innovation Connection Platform, continues to organize the 3rd Food Innovation and Development Competition (FID 2026) under the theme “Connecting the Power of Sustainable Food Value Chains.”
