On May 18, 2026, at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City (TECO), a scholarship award ceremony was held for students from universities with outstanding academic achievements. In this year’s scholarship presentation, students of the 2+2 international joint program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade were honored to receive scholarships worth nearly VND 100 million, recognizing their outstanding efforts in learning, training, and international integration.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of TECO, were Mr. Han Kuo-Yao, Director of the Office, and Mr. Lin Wei-Chih, Head of Division – Education Counselor. On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, there was Mr. Dang Tan Hiep, Head of the Office of International Cooperation, together with representatives of university leaders, lecturers, and outstanding student groups from prestigious universities in Ho Chi Minh City.
A notable highlight of this year’s scholarship presentation was that Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade had seven students from the 2+2 international joint program receiving scholarships with a total value of nearly VND 100 million. These students all achieved excellent academic results, possessed strong foreign language competence, demonstrated dynamism, and showed a clear orientation toward international development. This achievement continues to affirm the quality of training, the integrated learning environment, and the effectiveness of the international joint programs currently implemented by the University.

In particular, in this scholarship selection round, only three higher education institutions were selected for the awards, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. These are all reputable universities in training, especially in the fields of languages and international cooperation. The selection of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, along with the outstanding number of scholarships awarded, demonstrates the University’s increasingly affirmed position in international education and high-quality human resource development.
Speaking at the program, a representative of TECO highly appreciated the learning spirit, determination, and integration capacity of Vietnamese students, while expressing the expectation that educational cooperation programs between Vietnam and Taiwan would continue to expand strongly in the coming time. The scholarships not only provide financial support but also serve as great encouragement for students on their journey to conquer knowledge and develop international careers.

In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade continues to enroll students in the 2+2 international joint program with Chinese Culture University in Taiwan in two majors: International Business and Chinese Language, specializing in Applied Chinese. Under the program, students will study the first two years at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and the final two years at Chinese Culture University. Upon completion, they will be awarded an international degree. The program also offers various scholarship policies, dormitory support, and preferential benefits for students with good and excellent academic performance.
