On September 29, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in collaboration with the Center for Education Accreditation under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), successfully held the Closing Ceremony of the official external review for the quality assessment of three undergraduate programs and two master’s programs. This was an important event, affirming the University’s efforts to enhance training quality and marking a significant step in its educational quality accreditation process.

The official external review covered five academic programs, including:

  1. Food Business Administration – Undergraduate level
  2. Fashion and Textile Business – Undergraduate level
  3. Marketing – Undergraduate level
  4. Electrical Engineering – Master’s level
  5. Information Technology – Master’s level

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM, Supervisor of the External Review Panel; Dr. Truong Chi Hien, former Vice Rector of the University of Technology, VNU-HCM, Head of the Panel; and Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment, VNU-HCM, Deputy Head of the Panel.

Representing Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade were Dr. Phan Xuan Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Office of Student Affairs; Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Member of the Party Committee and Vice Rector in charge of quality assurance; together with leaders of offices, departments, centers, faculties, and members of the self-assessment councils for the academic programs under review.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Member of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University, acknowledged the valuable contributions of the experts and related units throughout the review process. He also affirmed the University’s commitment to continuing to build on its achievements and further strengthen its position as a reputable, innovative, and high-quality educational institution that meets the development needs of education and the labor market.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM, highly appreciated the University’s thorough preparation, open-minded spirit, and serious commitment, which created favorable conditions for the external review panel to carry out its work. She also recognized the University’s clear progress over the past five years, particularly in improving training quality and facilities. However, as with any development process, there remain opportunities for the University to continue refining and improving its performance. The strengths that the University has built should be maintained and further promoted, while the remaining shortcomings need to be addressed promptly in order to meet the increasingly high expectations of society and future generations of students.

During the intensive and effective working days, the experts provided in-depth assessments of teaching quality, facilities, and academic programs across the University’s faculties. Based on these findings, many recommendations for improvement were proposed, which are expected to contribute to the University’s sustainable development in the future.

An important part of the event was the signing ceremony of the official record confirming the completion of the external review. This document marked the conclusion of the review process, with the participation of representatives from the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM, the external review panel, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

The closing ceremony was not only an opportunity to review the results of the official survey, but also a meaningful occasion for the University to express its gratitude to the experts, lecturers, staff, and employees who contributed to the process. Fresh flower bouquets and small gifts were presented as tokens of sincere appreciation, recognizing the experts’ valuable contributions to improving educational quality at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
