On January 10, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade solemnly organized the Seminar “Mycotoxin – Food Safety” 2025 with the theme “Disseminating Knowledge – Elevating Awareness – For Food Safety.” The seminar, co-organized by the Faculty of Food Technology and the Mycotoxin Association in Ho Chi Minh City, attracted a large participation from scientists, experts, managers, businesses, lecturers, and students from various educational institutions and research units in the fields of food, agriculture, and livestock.
The seminar aimed to update the latest scientific knowledge on mycotoxins, share solutions for managing mycotoxins, and connect scientists, businesses, and students in the field of Food Technology. At the seminar, domestic and international experts presented research and effective solutions to minimize the impact of mycotoxins in food production and processing, as well as in the livestock industry. The seminar was honored to welcome the presence of many leaders from departments and sectors, representatives from universities, and leading experts from both domestic and international fields.
The seminar also included in-depth specialized sessions presented by top experts in the field. Specifically:
Topic 1: "The Impact of Mycotoxins on Livestock and Solutions to Mitigate Harm" Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thieu, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Veterinary Technology, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City.
Topic 2: "Contribution of Mushrooms in Mycotoxin Prevention and Bioremediation" Speaker: Dr. Antonio F. Logrieco, CAN-ISCA Research Institute, Republic of Italy.
Topic 3: "Solutions to Improve the Quality of Robusta Coffee in Gia Lai" Speaker: Mr. Luong Tien Viet, Director of True Café Company Limited.
Topic 4: "Guidelines for Preventing and Monitoring Food Poisoning" Speaker: MSc. Pham Thi Xuan Hong, Deputy Head of the Food Poisoning Surveillance Division, Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department.
Topic 5: "Mycotoxins in Livestock in Vietnam: Current Status, Risks, and Comprehensive Management Strategies" Speaker: Mr. Tran Duc Hung, General Director of DSM Nutritional Products.
These topics have helped raise awareness about Mycotoxins, enhance scientific cooperation and practical applications, and open up sustainable solutions for the food and agriculture industries, thereby protecting public health in the modern context.

The "Mycotoxin – Food Safety Challenge 2025" Competition A highlight of the conference was Round 2 of the "Mycotoxin – Food Safety Challenge 2025" competition, with the participation of over 200 contestants from 13 universities across the Central and Southern regions. The contestants had the opportunity to present their scientific solutions for preventing and handling mycotoxins, while also receiving valuable feedback from the panel of expert judges. The competition was not only an academic platform but also an opportunity for students to demonstrate their research spirit, creativity, and social responsibility

Celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Mycotoxin Chapter As part of the program, the Organizing Committee solemnly held a ceremony celebrating the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Mycotoxin Chapter. This marked a year of meaningful activities in academic networking, research, and specialized training on mycotoxins. It is a memorable milestone in the development of the food science community in Ho Chi Minh City and the country as a whole.
