On the afternoon of January 29, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in coordination with the Police of Tay Thanh and Tan Son Nhi Wards, held a signing ceremony for a coordination regulation on safeguarding national security, ensuring social order and safety, and preventing and combating crime and other legal violations in the education sector for the 2025–2030 period. The ceremony took place at Auditorium C.

The ceremony was attended by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Dong, Deputy Head of the Internal Political Security Division under the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department. Representatives of local authorities included Mr. Dao Minh Chanh, Secretary of the Tay Thanh Ward Party Committee; Mr. Nghiem Van Ut, Chairman of the Tay Thanh Ward People’s Committee; and Ms. Le Thi Thu Huyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Tan Son Nhi Ward People’s Committee. Also in attendance were Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, Chief of Tay Thanh Ward Police, and Comrade Nguyen Trung Ky, Chief of Tan Son Nhi Ward Police, together with officers and officials from both wards.

Representing HUIT were Meritorious Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and Dr. Phan Xuan Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Student Affairs Department. The event also welcomed leaders of various departments and faculties, staff members, and a large number of students.

In his opening remarks, Meritorious Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan provided an overview of the political security situation at the University over the past year and emphasized the importance of close coordination in building a safe, healthy, and secure educational environment.

Representatives of Tay Thanh and Tan Son Nhi Ward Police also highlighted the practical significance of the coordination regulation, focusing on several key areas: strengthening legal education and awareness for students; enhancing information sharing to monitor security and public order; coordinating the development of student self-governance models for campus security; and supporting and educating students who may be at risk of violating the law.

On this occasion, Captain Cao Hoai Sang from Division PC08 of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department delivered a presentation on school security, public order, and traffic safety. At the same time, students were instructed by Comrade Pham Thi Ngoc Thu on how to use the HCMC Security SOS application, which enables citizens to promptly report incidents and contact the relevant authorities when needed.
