On November 30, 2022, the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry solemnly welcomed and worked with Prof. Dr. Ho-Hsien Chen, Counselor and Director of the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Chung-Chih Liu, Chairman of the Board; Dr. Chien-Tai Wang, President and the delegation of Meiho University including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hsiao-Tseng Lin, Associate Prof. and Chair of the Information Technology Department and Dean of the International and Cross-Straits Affairs Office; Mr. Tien-Fu Wu, member of the Board; Prof. Yuan-Kuang Guu, Chair Professor of the Food Science and Nutrition Department; and Ms. Chueh Huang. The meeting aimed at opening up new opportunities to further tighten the cooperation relationship between the two universities.

On the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, PhD – HUFI’s President, congratulated Prof. Dr. Ho-Hsien Chen, Mr. Chung-Chih Liu and Prof. Dr. Chien-Tai Wang on their new position. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan believes with the support of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City and the long history of partnership between HUFI and MU, the cooperation activities between HUFI and Taiwan in general and MU in particular will prosper in the upcoming years, especially when the COVID-19 barriers has been lifted. Leaders of the two universities also shared with each other the outstanding achievements they have been able to achieve in the recent years.
After that, authorized by the Presidents of the two universities, the Head of the Postgraduate and International Cooperation Office (HUFI) and the Head of the International and Cross-Straits Affairs Office (MU) introduced detailes about each universities’ study programs, human resources, training methods and current student sizes, especially focusing on the cooperation programs between HUFI and other universities in Taiwan. The two sides also discussed the opening of a new Chinese linguistic program, the implementation of joint-international scientific research, the exchange of lecturers and students, etc.

Speaking in response, Mr. Chung-Chih Liu, Chairman of the Board and Prof. Dr. Chien-Tai Wang, MU’s President, expressed their pleasure to witness many new changes of HUFI during this business trip. They also promised to support HUFI through efforts to recruit and send language experts to teach at HUFI, as well as organize different international student-faculty exchanges or research projects between HUFI and MU.

At the end of the meeting, under the witness of Prof. Dr. Ho-Hsien Chen, Counselor and Director of the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of the two universities agreed to strengthen the good cooperative relationship between the parties in the future.
