On the morning of April 8, 2026, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Department of Personnel and Organization, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), organized an advanced training course on digital transformation for 2026 for officials and civil servants of the Agency of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion. The program contributed to spreading the spirit of innovation, promoting the application of artificial intelligence in public service, and enhancing the digital capabilities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s personnel.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hong – Deputy Director General of the Department of Personnel and Organization, delivered the opening remarks for the training course.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Personnel and Organization, emphasized that digital transformation is currently a key and breakthrough task in socio-economic development. In this context, improving digital capacity, mastering technology, and gradually applying AI to work processing, advisory functions, and management are practical requirements for today’s officials and civil servants.

As a partner in the program, HUIT continues to affirm its role as an application-oriented higher education institution that consistently connects training activities, knowledge transfer, and practical engagement with the development needs of government agencies, organizations, and society. Through the training course, participants gained an overview of the development of artificial intelligence and directly practiced using AI tools in document processing, information analysis, and decision support. The program content was designed to be practical and closely aligned with work requirements, enabling participants to apply what they learned immediately in their own units.

A key highlight of the course was the guidance on applying AI platforms in public service activities. This content was delivered by speakers from Google, focusing on specific use cases such as document processing, information synthesis, report preparation, and decision support. This was expected to provide highly practical value and contribute to improving work efficiency in a digital environment.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director General of the Agency of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, highly appreciated the significance of the course in the context of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s efforts to widely disseminate knowledge of digital technology and artificial intelligence to all officials and civil servants. The goal is for 100% of civil servants to participate in the training; those who are absent will be arranged to attend make-up sessions to ensure comprehensive digital capacity development. After completing the course, participants will be awarded certificates as a basis for assessing the digital transformation level of their units.
