During the working session, the two institutions held in-depth discussions and reached an agreement to implement a joint training program under the 2+2 model. Accordingly, HUIT students will complete the first two years of study at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and the final two years at Sun Moon University (South Korea). Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree by Sun Moon University, with mutual recognition and credit transfer between the two institutions in accordance with the signed agreements.
The joint program will initially be applied to majors in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Engineering, and Global Tourism. During their studies, students will complete foundational and major-specific courses at HUIT under a curriculum aligned with that of Sun Moon University, ensuring that they possess sufficient academic competence when transferring to South Korea to undertake more advanced and specialized coursework. The two universities also agreed on the eligibility requirements for HUIT students to transfer after two years of study. In addition to academic performance requirements, students must meet specific foreign language criteria, particularly Korean language proficiency. Sun Moon University will directly conduct interviews and select eligible students for admission to the final two years of study.
Regarding financial policies, the tuition fee for the first two years of study at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will be capped at 2,800 USD per year (or the equivalent amount in VND at the time of payment), enabling families to proactively plan financial resources during the domestic study period. For the final two years at Sun Moon University, students will pay tuition fees in accordance with Sun Moon University’s regulations. Notably, HUIT students participating in the program will have the opportunity to receive scholarships ranging from 30% to 60% of tuition fees at Sun Moon University, depending on their Korean language proficiency. These scholarships not only recognize students’ academic efforts but also serve as a strong incentive for HUIT students to invest seriously in foreign language training from the early years of their university studies.
The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and Sun Moon University took place successfully.
The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and Sun Moon University not only marks the establishment of a new strategic partnership but also opens a clear and practical pathway for international study for HUIT students, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering. Building on this milestone, HUIT reaffirms its commitment to further internationalizing its academic programs and enhancing students’ foreign language proficiency and global integration skills.
