On October 14, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in collaboration with the Center for Education Accreditation under Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), solemnly held the opening ceremony of the official external review for the accreditation of six undergraduate academic programs, including Environmental Engineering Technology, Biotechnology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Accounting.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-Hanoi were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-Hanoi; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan, Deputy Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-Hanoi, and Chairman of the Education Accreditation Council. Representing the external review panel were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, former Vice President of VNU-Hanoi and Head of the Panel; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Secretary of the Education Accreditation Council, Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-Hanoi, and Secretary of the Panel, together with other panel members.

On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, attendees included Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Vice Rector of HUIT, along with leaders of faculties, offices, and centers, as well as lecturers and students from the six academic programs under review.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade expressed its pleasure in welcoming the accreditation team for the official review of the six academic programs. A representative of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-Hanoi, also addressed the ceremony, sharing information about the accreditation procedures to be conducted throughout the official review period from October 14 to October 17.

In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, emphasized the importance of quality accreditation for academic programs. He stated: “Education quality accreditation is not only a necessary step but also a key factor in ensuring that the academic programs of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade consistently meet the highest standards and continue to improve in order to better serve students and the community. This is an opportunity for us to review our achievements and, at the same time, identify orientations and solutions to further enhance educational quality in response to the increasing demands of society and the labor market, especially in the context of international integration. Educational quality is a vital factor for the sustainable development of every educational institution. With the University’s strong commitment, we will continue striving not only to maintain but also to improve training quality, contributing to the development of creative, dynamic generations of students who are ready to face future challenges.”

Following the speeches, delegates were invited to watch a video introducing the University’s quality assurance activities, providing an overview of its efforts and initiatives in maintaining and enhancing educational quality.

The opening ceremony concluded in a solemn atmosphere filled with optimism, determination, and strong commitment from all delegates, lecturers, and participants.

This official review is not merely a routine accreditation activity, but also a valuable opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade to conduct a comprehensive and objective review of the achievements it has attained in recent years. On that basis, the University can define its strategic development directions for the next phase, continue building a solid educational foundation, standardize its operations in accordance with national and international standards, and move toward sustainable development and deeper integration.
