On September 14, 2021, the Seventh Session of Quality Assurance Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) was opened by Vice President and Vice Chairman of Education Quality Assurance Council of HUFI MA. Thai Doan Thanh, who welcomed 92 members from Quality Assurance Council and Quality Assurance Teams of HUFI with the aims of summarizing the results of Quality Assurance Plan for the school year 2020-2021, discussing the draft of Quality Assurance Plan for the school year 2021-2022, and proposing a number of improved issues.

Speaking at the opening meeting, Vice President Thai Doan Thanh emphasized that quality assurance is a regular and important activity for HUFI’s education quality improvement. The school year 2020 - 2021 when 50% of HUFI’s works were changed into online was specially spent in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic which has affected to teaching and learning, scientific research, community services as well as assessment and accreditation activities.

The summary report on the results of Quality Assurance Plan for the school year 2020-2021 and the draft of Quality Assurance Plan for the school year 2021-2022 were presented by MA. Duong Hoang Kiet, Deputy Director of Center of Quality Management, Standing Member of Quality Assurance Council. The participants discussed some difficulties in the implementation of quality assurance, quality survey data and gave their suggestions on those issues. Their suggestions will be an important basis for the leaders to build up an useful quality assurance plan for the new school year.

In conclusion, Vice President Thai Doan Thanh acknowledged the contents in the report and asked Center of Quality Management to complete the draft of the Quality Assurance Plan for the school year 2021-2022 in which that emphasizes its necessary in evaluating teacher effectiveness and developing outcomes-based learning programmes. The excellent individuals and units led in teaching innovation can be recommend rewards and awards.
To propose promulgating the university's goals and quality policy for 2021-2025 period; quality goals in the school year 2021-2022; guidelines on stakeholder consultations; task assignment to project managers; cooperation in employer surveys in both usage of analysis and comparison in the past few years.
To continue developing HUFI's quality culture and organizing scientific conferences on review every five years of quality assurance in a series of events that celebrates 40th traditional anniversary.
To request all HUFI’s units to develop their quality goals in the school year 2021-2022, in which are quantified and effectively assessed to improve educational training quality, scientific research, and community services at the local units and in the university.
