On March 29th 2019, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan – Vice president of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) welcomed delegation from Meiho University (MU), Taiwan at the meeting room C206 – HUFI.  The delegation from MU led by Prof. Shun-Hsiang Weng – MU’s president, along with  Dr. Hung-Kai Yen - Dean of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, Assc. Prof. Kuo-Tung Huan - Director of Information Networking Center, Mr. Davis Lee - Vice General Manager of Great Engineering Technology Corp GETECH, and Ms. Tran Buu Dinh – GETECH’s secretary.

Prof. Shun-Hsiang Weng expressed his gratitude to warmly welcome from HUFI’s leaders. He also shared that HUFI was the first foreign university he visited after taking office. He emphasized the important mission of MU in the future in reinforcement and enhancement the international cooperation activities in which HUFI is identified as a strategic partner of MU.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan expressed his sincere thanks to the president and delegation of MU for their visiting to HUFI which help to strengthen the cooperation on collaborative education as well as exchanging students and lecturers between both sides in the new stage. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan expressed his congratulations to Prof. Shun-Hsiang Weng for his new position as MU’s president by Taiwan Ministry of Education on February 2019. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hoan also acknowledged the goodwill from Prof. Shun-Hsiang Weng and MU for selecting HUFI as the strategic partner of MU. This visiting lay the foundation to further expanse and success for long-term cooperation between two sides in the future.

During the meeting, the leaders from two universities discussed about the extending educational cooperation with modern beside traditional patterns and unified the schemes and strategies for next semesters. With the foundation well-established for many years between two universities, hopefully the cooperation in joint training programs (long- and short-time), exchange students and lecturers, scientific research cooperation as well as technology transfer will be maintained and strongly developed for upcoming years.

On this occasion, the delegation made a short tour around HUFI’s laboratories and equipment systems to establish a specific cooperation scheme.
