On July 9–10, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Startup and Innovation Center (SIHUB) and the Southern National Startup Advisory and Support Council, successfully organized an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Capacity-Building Training Program for faculty members and staff. The program was implemented under Decision No. 247/QĐ-SKHCN issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, aiming to strengthen the capacity of core lecturers and contribute to the development of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within higher education institutions.

The program was attended by Ms. Le Thi Be Ba, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Startup and Innovation Center (SIHUB); Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, M.A., Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Southern National Startup Advisory and Support Council; Ms. Hoang Thi Thoa, M.A., Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; representatives from partnering enterprises and experts; together with more than 40 faculty members and staff of HUIT.

She emphasized that faculty members play a pivotal role in cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, inspiring students, and supporting them throughout the process of developing innovative ideas, transforming them into viable projects, and ultimately commercializing their innovations. She expressed her expectation that the training program would equip HUIT faculty members with updated knowledge, methodologies, and practical tools, enabling them to further strengthen their mentoring role while contributing to the creation of a dynamic, innovative educational environment closely connected with Ho Chi Minh City's startup ecosystem.

Throughout the program, participants attended a series of specialized training sessions delivered by experts from the Southern National Startup Advisory and Support Council. The program covered key topics including: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awareness and Entrepreneurial Mindset; Business Idea Generation and Screening; Design Thinking and Business Model Development; and the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Teaching and Business Project Presentation. Designed with a modern, practice-oriented approach, the training combined lectures, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, enabling participants not only to acquire new knowledge but also to exchange professional experiences and enhance their ability to mentor students in developing innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

One of the highlights of the training program was the integration of active learning methodologies with emerging technologies, particularly the application of artificial intelligence in teaching and startup project development. Through practical exercises, participants explored a variety of AI-powered tools that can enhance teaching effectiveness, modernize instructional approaches, and strengthen the connection between academic activities and the practical needs of businesses and society.

After two days of intensive learning and active participation, the program concluded with a closing ceremony and the presentation of certificates of completion to all participants. Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the organizing committee commended the participants for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and active engagement throughout the training. Their commitment to continuous learning and innovation reflects HUIT's determination to foster an entrepreneurial culture and further embed innovation across the University.

The training program concluded with positive outcomes, significantly enhancing participants' professional competencies, innovative thinking, and mentoring skills in entrepreneurship education. At the same time, the program reaffirmed the effective partnership between Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, SIHUB, and the Southern National Startup Advisory and Support Council in developing high-quality human resources, strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and advancing higher education reform in the new era.
