Pursuant to Circular No. 18/2021/TT-BGDDT dated June 28, 2021 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the promulgation of the Regulations on Doctoral Admission and Training;

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announces doctoral admission for Phase 2 of 2025 as follows:

2. Form, duration, and location of training:

• Form of training: Full-time
• Duration of training:

· 03 years for applicants who have obtained a master’s degree (90 credits)

· 04 years for applicants who have obtained a bachelor’s degree (120 credits)

• Training location: At the campuses of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

3. Eligible applicants:

• Vietnamese citizens.
• Foreign citizens.

4. Admission method: Admission based on competency profile evaluation.
5. Admission requirements:

5.1. General requirements for applicants:

• Applicants must have obtained a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with a classification of Good or higher in a relevant discipline; or have obtained an equivalent qualification at Level 7 of the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework in certain specialized fields appropriate to the doctoral training program as specified in Appendix I. For closely related disciplines, applicants are required to complete supplementary knowledge courses in accordance with the regulations of the training program;
• Applicants must meet the entry requirements according to the program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the doctoral program for which they apply;
• Applicants must have research experience demonstrated through the master’s thesis of a research-oriented training program; or through published scientific articles or reports; or have at least 02 years, equivalent to 24 months, of work experience as a lecturer or researcher at training institutions or science and technology organizations;
• Applicants must have a draft research proposal and a proposed study and research plan for the entire course.

5.2. Vietnamese applicants must meet foreign language proficiency requirements, demonstrated by one of the following degrees or certificates:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher awarded by a foreign training institution, a branch campus of a foreign training institution in Vietnam, or a Vietnamese training institution for a full-time program delivered in a foreign language;
• A bachelor’s degree in a foreign language major awarded by a Vietnamese training institution;
• One of the foreign language degrees or certificates equivalent to Level 4 or higher according to the six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or other equivalent certificates announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, valid by the application date as specified in Appendix II.

5.3. Foreign applicants who apply for doctoral programs delivered in Vietnamese must have a Vietnamese language certificate of at least Level 4 according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for foreigners and must meet the second foreign language requirement as decided by the training institution, except in cases where the applicant is a native speaker of the language used in the doctoral training program.

5.4. Supervisors:

• Each doctoral candidate may have a maximum of two doctoral dissertation supervisors, of whom at least one must be a full-time lecturer or researcher of the University; or a foreign scientist; or a Vietnamese scientist working abroad; or a domestic scientist working full-time at the University under a fixed-term labor contract of at least 12 months.
• Supervisors of doctoral candidates must meet the requirements specified in Appendix III.

Notes:

• Foreign language certificates must be taken in person at testing locations licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training to organize examinations and issue certificates.
• Notarized copies must be valid within 6 months up to the time of application submission.
• The University does not authorize any individual or organization to receive applications, collect admission fees or tuition fees, and does not return application dossiers or admission evaluation fees to applicants.

6.2. Method of application submission: Submit directly to the Postgraduate Management Office, Room D102, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

7. Admission evaluation fee and tuition fee:

• Admission evaluation fee: VND 3,000,000 per applicant.
• Tuition fee: VND 30,000,000 per semester.
• Payment method: Direct payment or bank transfer.
